Family Pics

A few weeks ago my friend and Breanna and I did a photo session swap. She took some family pictures for me and I took some maternity pictures for her. I love the way our pictures turned out. They were exactly what I wanted thanks so much Bre (and her hubby Bryce) for letting me borrow you while you were back in Utah!

Here are a few of our family pictures (sorry only some of them have been edited in photoshop, I am running way behind on editing my pictures). I will post some of the pictures I took of Bre soon! Thanks again Bre, I am so lucky to have such a talented friend!

Taylee's Birth...and some eye candy

I have been meaning to write down the story of Taylee's Birth so I would have a record of it. So here it is...its going to be really long, just to warn you! It all started on Monday November 8th. I was so desperate to go into labor by my due date (11/13) because Zach had a training at work the next week that we did not want him to miss because it would help him in his career and it would give me more spending money! I was only dilated to a 1 and was not effaced at all. A friend of mine told me to go get a prenatal massage because that is what induced labor with all 4 of her kids. I figured I had nothing to loose, because a massage would feel great even if it didn't induce my labor! Well during the whole massage the guy kept pushing pressure points and told me to envision my water breaking. Meanwhile I am thinking that the guy is a weirdo and that if he knew anything about having a baby your water doesn't break when you are only 1 cm dilated. Well I didn't have any contractions that night and figured the massage was a bust. Well I woke up at 7:45 the next morning and thought I was peeing the bed. Well after about 10 minutes I realized my water had broke. When we got to the hospital I was still only a 1 and wasn't effaced at all. They gave me a pill to soften my cervix and said that I probably wouldn't have the baby for at least 24 hours. Well 3 hours later my cervix was ripe and they were going to give me my epidural and pitocin to start to progress my labor more.
They came in to put in my epidural and when they put it in I instantly went numb and told the doctor that. He seemed surprise and told me to tell him if my arms started tingling, and they were then he told me to tell him in my mouth started to go numb and it was. They went through the epidural space and went into my spinal space. Instead of being numb from the waist down I was numb from my eyeballs down. I had about 4 doctors and 6 nurses run into my room. I was in and out of consciousness I told the doctor I felt like I was dying because I could no longer feel myself breathing. He assured me that I was ok and that he knew what was going on. I couldn't talk and they had to suction out my mouth because I couldn't even swallow my spit so I was choking. Finally after about 1.5-2 hours the numbness wore off and I was only numb from my waist down. They started me on pitocin at this time and I was dilated to a 2 and hour later I was a 4 and the next hour I was at a 10 and ready to push. I pushed 4 times and she was out! She was born at 10:10 on November 9th. She was perfect. She came out and didn't cry (until the nurses would rub her and even then she just let out a few little yells). She laid up and just looked at me! That was the sweetest moment I have ever experienced. The next few days were bliss with Zach and the new babe!
On the 11th I got a spinal headache! Worst thing ever! I had to get a blood patch in order to fix it (basically they put your own blood into your spinal space to help patch the hole that was caused when they gave me the epidural). It was a horrible experience...the anesthesiologist was an jerk and to say the least it was pretty traumatic for me and Zach. I went home and felt ok for a day, but my back hurt so bad after they gave me the blood patch. I ended up spiking a really high fever and got readmitted to the hospital. I had gotten an infection in my spinal space from the blood patch...meningitis! It was awful. I had to leave my baby at home while I was in the hospital for 3 days. It was horrible being away from her. However, I got over that and came home to my perfect healthy baby! And all is well now! It has been a rough go the past month with my health and I am feeling better all the time, but I am so grateful that Taylee is healthy and doing great!
I am sorry if this scares anyone (I have a few friends that are prego) the whole time I was in the hospital they said they had never ever seen this happen and that the odds of all of this happening to me had to be one in a million (Lucky me). It has been a crazy month, but I sure do love being a mom and love that sweet feeling of having a new baby! Now, if time could slow down I would really be grateful, she is growing way to fast!
We got her newborn pictures back and think they turned out so cute, here are just a few out of the 325 pictures the photographer took!

One Cute Little Turkey

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours. We have so much to be grateful for this year, we have been so blessed in so many ways. In the past few weeks I have realized yet again what amazing friends and family we have. I was re-admitted to the hospital and was unable to be with Taylee for 3 days, we had so much support and love from so many people and we honestly could not have done it without them! We had so many people offer to help and had family coming over to take shifts with Tay so Zach could come see me at the hospital. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who works hard and supports me in even my craziest ideas and dreams. I will never know how I got so lucky to marry Zach. He is my rock, my love, and my best friend and there is no one else I would rather be with. Most of all I am grateful for this sweet little girl! I never knew that you could love someone so much and so instantly. It's amazing! I am just so grateful!

Right after I found out I was pregnant I went shopping and found this little PJ set (it was in March, and I found it for a $2.50) and knew I had to have it since it was unisex and since we would have a little thanksgiving baby. So I just had to take some pictures of her in it. She has sure helped me a lot with my photography and photoshop skills. I have take over 600 pictures of her the 2 weeks she has been on earth. Man I loved her!

What a cute little turkey!
Don't you just wanna kiss those cheeks? Eh, I wanna go wake her up right now and kiss them!

Dear baby...

Dear Baby Girl,
I just want you to know how excited I am for you to finally come! Mommy is getting huge and am hoping you have been plumping up nice and round too! Daddy and I talk everyday about how excited we are and what you are going to look like, Daddy think you will be bald when you are born like mommy was. I am still convinced that you will look like a little monkey like Daddy did, he had so much hair when he was born. Your nursery is almost done Daddy just has to hang some stuff up on the walls and we need to add some finishing touches. Mommy has bought you a lot of really really cute clothes, you are going to love them and look so cute in them! I think I bought too many and am hoping you get to at least wear them all before you get too big, but don't worry I have clothes up to 2 years old so you have plenty to last you a long time! I also hope you love hair bows and shoes, I went a little overboard on the headbands and flowers when we found out you were a girl!
I also think you are going to be a great gymnast one day, because you are constantly doing somersaults in my belly. You never stop moving!
I just wanted to write this to you, I feel like I complain a lot about being pregnant, fat, swollen, uncomfortable, and feeling crappy all the time. I just want you to know it is all worth it and I can't wait to be your mommy. I am excited though that in just 8 long weeks I will be able to see my toes, pick stuff up off the ground, sleep through the whole night, and to be able to get up out of bed or off the ground without using a fork lift. However, I just can't wait to hold you, to snuggle you, and to love you!
We are anxiously awaiting your arrival. Don't come too soon though, you better finish getting cooked so you can be healthy and chubby!
I love you so much! XoXo!
Love: Your Mommy

Just some thoughts...

I have really been neglecting the whole blogging thing. I have made it a goal to start writing more. I actually really enjoy writing and I have been wanting to turn my blog into a photobook at the end of every year. I just to write things down to journal my life, my feelings, and my true thoughts. So I this may be lame for many of you so you can go to the next blog (as it will be really long), but I want to remember some of the things I am thinking and feeling right now in my life even if they are pointless and dumb...

First, I miss my husband terribly right now. He got a new job with fidelity investments and he is preparing to take his series 7 and 63 security exams (don't ask me what they are, I just know he needs them, they have a lot of math stuff, and they are difficult exams to pass). He works all day and comes home and studies all night. I mean I see him, but I miss the quality time that we use to have. It will only be one more month till he takes it and we have our life back. It has also made me more grateful for him and our marriage. He has been working so hard so I don't have to and so that I can stay home with our baby (read below how I am feeling about this...). It also makes me grateful that we haven't been that close because we can't ONLY due to time and this stupid test. My heart breaks for those people who are in marriages where they don't communicate, laugh, share everything, laugh, and just love being together, and did I say LAUGH...I just have found a new appreciation this past month for him, his hard work, and also the marriage and friendship that we have.

Second, TO WORK OR NOT TO WORK...that is the question. I am so torn right now. I want to stay home with my little girl and will. However, I am debating whether or not I should work part time if I can find somewhere flexible. On one hand I have worked so hard to get into and through grad school I feel like it would be such a waste if I didn't. I also think it would be good to have something that I do for me instead of just being a mommy (soon) and wife. However, being a mommy and wife is demanding and exhausting (from what I hear) and so I am wondering if I will just feel overworked and ornery about going to work, which would defeat the whole point in me working. I am really so torn about this so if you have any insight I would love some!

Finally, I have been in a weird spot in my life with friends. I don't really talk to my single friends that much anymore or my friends that are just married. Many of my single friends its just hard when we are in such different spots in our life (I still love them its just hard to be as close when we are experiencing such different things, first marriage now all this baby business). Now, when it comes to my some of my married friends I am have extreme guilt. I have so many friends who are "trying" to get pregnant or have gotten pregnant and have miscarried. I have such guilt for getting pregnant so easy and I mean easy. I just feel like I don't want to make them feel bad and that they are hurt that I am experiencing something that they so badly want (most who have wanted to have a baby before I even thought about getting married). I just wish I could confront some of these feelings head on, but it really had been difficult on me.

However, on this subject I have some of the most amazing friends. Some I have known most of my life, some I have only known a short time. All who love and support me no matter what. I have friends who aren't in the same phase of life as I am right now. However, they give their never ending support and love. So if that is you (which I know some of them read this) thank you so much. I truly love you and am so grateful for your friendship. I hope you feel supported and loved by me back.

Holy cow....this was long and lame for many of you. I honestly can't sleep at night because I am thinking about all these things (getting up to pee 4 times a night and not being able to get comfortable enough to sleep could also be contributing). However, if you have any advice or insight I would love love love to hear it!!!

Photo session with Porter

As many of you already know I am a very proud aunt! Well I have a new little nephew named Porter. I also love photography and since I will have my own kid soon I thought I better practice taking some pictures of a baby. So here are few of the over 200 pictures I took yesterday! Thanks Britt for letting me borrow you and your kids for a while! This is one of the last pictures I took and he was ready for the photo shoot to be over so he could eat! Isn't he just so sweet? It makes me want my little girl here already so I can hold and snuggle her in my arms, however, while I am waiting I am sure glad I have another sweet baby to cuddle!

Music...sorry

For the first time I went and re-read most of my blog. I had some music set that I like, because last year when I was at work I would listen to my playlist while doing my notes. However, since I don't work now I haven't listened to it in a long time. Apparently some of the songs I had picked were changed from songs into horrible things. As I sat and read it there was one or two that came up saying lots of F- words and other swears. Don't worry I deleted my music altogether and want to apologize if you heard it. I really had no idea and have no idea how long it has been doing that. So if you did hear it sorry and I sure hope your kids were not close by at the time!

20 weeks...yahoo!

Well I am finally 20 weeks! I switched doctors and they also moved my due date up to November 13th. It is only 2 days, but still I am ecstatic about this baby girl coming ASAP (not too early)! I am starting to get bigger and now strangers are asking when I am due and what I am having so there is no more hiding this baby bump. I am so excited to be half way there, I have started the count down 19.5 weeks left to go!!!! And as many of you know I have a little problem/addiction with shopping. She has so many clothes and the nursery has been started! I am getting ready for her, however, I know I will be ready for her way before she is done cooking!

Budha Belly and Weekend getaway

Well first off to celebrate our anniversary we went up to park city for a few days. I thought it was going to be fun, but I didn't realize how much fun it was going to be! It was like a mini honeymoon, it was nice not to do anything much besides be together. We went to some awesome restaurants and did a lot of shopping! When we checked in the lady asked us why we came to park city when we live in Salt Lake and we told her to celebrate our first anniversary. Later that night she sent us up some chocolate covered strawberries (isn't that so thoughtful)...I was in heaven!

Also, I am almost half way done with this pregnancy garbage. I am feeling so huge! I am sorry, I hate being pregnant everyone always tells me how wonderful it is, but really I flat out hate it! I am still sick and throwing up everyday and I just feel so yucky all the time! However, I am so grateful for the opportunity to be pregnant!

These pictures can't be right, I can't be that big already!!! Maybe I had a big dinner and was pushing out or something...I better take some more just to make sure. I have a feeling that I won't like the results! For those of you that have kids, were you this big at 18 weeks? I feel like I am a lot bigger than I should be.
