The Last Lecture

I came home from a long bike ride tonight and my mom told me to come watch this special that was on TV about this guy named Randy Pausch who passed away last week. I had never heard of him, but many people have. Holy Cow, this man's attitude was so amazing. Watching made me feel so ungrateful. This man was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. He had an amazing attitude and outlook on life. He was so positive (not in denial) he wanted to live the little time he had left on earth to its fullest! He wrote a book The Last Lecture about ways to live your life, fulfill your dreams, and to be happy. Watching this show was really inspiring and made me pull out the list I made when I was a kid of things I wanted to do. Surprisingly I have done a lot of the things I have put on there, but it made me want to set goals to finish them! It was just great and I am feeling so positive right now. How grateful I am for my life and this just made me want to spend a little less time stressing about work and other things that I can't change and take a little more time just to notice the simple pleasures in life! I hope that everyone can make that goal and realize how truly bless we really are!

Happy Birthday...to Me!

Oh man so this week has been so crazy! Well to start off I don't have cancer, they took biopsies and I will know the rest of the test results next week, but the good news is that they didn't find any cancer cells...Which has been the biggest relief of my life! They tested for a few other diseases and other things so hopefully next week I will have a better idea of what is going on inside of me. Meanwhile, I guess I tried talking during the procedure when all the tubes were down my throat and it made my throat and my vocal cords swell up so I have had a horrible sore throat and it has made talking and breathing a little difficult this week...but no cancer so yeah!!!!

I turned 23 on the 24th...let me tell you this was the hardest birthday for me. 23 seems so old and I just didn't like it, but I had a great day I went to Wall-e and to dinner with my family. Then to a pool party and out with my guy friends that night! I am glad I went out that night because most of my guy friends are about 26 so they made me feel good about my age. I was talking to one of them and he said that every year on his birthday he thinks about his accomplishments and reasons why he is proud of himself. So I did it,I came up with 23 things that I am proud of or things I have accomplished! It honestly made me feel a lot better and good to see the progress I have made! A few of these were graduating for college, living in Guatemala, buying Christmas for a family last Christmas, my family, my testimony, and so many more! That kind of got me over the age thing. I got a sweet mountain bike though (a few friends have inspired me and now I love biking). I have gone a road rides, but have yet to take it to the hills so hopefully sometime this week I will have time to do that. So all and all my birthday was good, a little rough at points, but it ended great!
Me, McKay and Chayse posing with Wall-e

McKay told me "I will give you a kiss for you birthday because I know you really like me to give you kisses" so here is a birthday kiss from McKay. He is such a little sweetheart!

Kennecott Copper Mine...
The day after my birthday my parents and I decided to take Chayse and McKay up to Kennecott! It was so great, my niece and nephew loved it and had a lot of fun! McKay is so smart and funny. They had some giant coins on display (because they are made of copper) we asked
him who the people (aka presidents) were on the coins he knew George Washington and when we asked him who was on the penny he said, "OH, that is Mr Ham Lincoln". It was so funny and cute. I seriously love my nephew and niece and they have seriously gotten me through a lot of the hard things I am going through right now! I would die without them and I am so so so lucky that I am their aunt and I love that no matter how sad or crappy I am feeling they can always make me laugh and smile!

Me and Chayse looking at the mine
My dad , me and the kids posing in front of the train cars. We had to do this because McKay is obsessed with trains.

Last but not least, this are the kid hard hats that we purchased for 15$ a piece because they "just had to get it"...What a great day at the Bingham Copper Mine!

THE HOST

I was a little reluctant to read THE HOST because I do not like Sci-Fi books and I heard it was about aliens. Being that I loved the other books Stephenie Meyer has written I pre-ordered it. It sat on my table for over 6 weeks...then I opened it. It sucked me right it. I love love loved it!!!!! I dare say I liked it more than Twlight. Maybe because inside of me there is almost the same two people that are inside of the body (for those who have read it). One side that is really fiesty, can be a brat, very determined, and self preserving. Yet the another side that very gentle, concerned, and accepting also exsists inside me (or else I would have chosen another profession that makes more money!). I just loved the book though and recommend it to everyone to read!!!! This also made me so excited for Breaking Dawn's release! I have it pre-ordered too...and it will not be sitting on my counter for 6 weeks that is for sure!

Random...I know

Oh so the last little bit has been about the same I have still been pretty sick. I went to the doctor today and after they drew about 10 gallons of blood the doctor decided that on Friday he wants to shove a camera in both ends of me and look around and take some Biopsies...sounds fun huh! Oh, and that means more time at the dreaded hospital, eh! On the up side, I went to a Rodeo with some friends and we had a blast, I quit one of my jobs (yahoo, only having 2 jobs is nice), and I went on a date with a Calvin Klein underwear model and a kid from Israel (both were interesting, but for entirely different reasons)! I guess I will post again later after the fun of my insides being taken out to be examined!

4th of July Weekend!

The past few weeks have been really rough for me! I have been really really sick and after a week of pain, a day in the hospital, 2 tests, many many drugs...they found out...nothing really. I have a Ileus where my intestines are all twisted (that is how the doctor put it), but I have to go to the doctor in a week and see what else is going on in there. SO that should be fun...I am really sick of being sick!

On a another note...I went down to Ephraim with Nick, Richard, and Jac this weekend. It was so fun! We 4 wheeled, went to this gorgeous lake, went to a pool party, shot guns, had a BBQ and a bomb fire where we lit a couch on fire. Sunday we went to the Manti Temple which is always fun! The whole time was so much fun! I was crazy and out of control...just like I use to be and it has been years since I totally let loose like I did this past weekend. I think it all just exploded out of me! I was so hyper and I laughed the entire time! Here are a few pictures...enjoy!

Just Jac and me ready to go 4 wheeling!

Me shooting guns...I am so good!

4 wheeling with Richie and Jac...Richard is Crazy!

We found a random couch and lit it on fire, roasted marshmallows, and lit SOBE bombs...it was a blast!
